In the 21st century, humanity faced an energy crisis that was certain to spell the end of mankind. But with the discovery and solution of magic, a limitless energy source, new threats arose. With magic came the creation of the Gears, magic-infused creatures and humans who ended up waging war against humanity, in a century-long battle known as the Crusades.

It is now the late 22nd century. We follow Sol Badguy, a delinquent bounty hunter who seeks to eliminate all Gears as well as That Man, the one who created them. Sol faces apocalyptic-level events in the name of what he believes is right, alongside a diverse cast of characters who all seek to exist in harmony in this turmoil-ridden world.
